Ed and Ellie met in high school, but it wasn’t until four years later while they were both acting in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet that their romance blossomed. With the scenic Waldara Farm in Oberon, NSW as their wedding venue, Ed and Ellie wanted to complement the farm surroundings with rustic and vintage touches.

‘We didn’t want anything to look to structured or manicured, we wanted it all to be a bit organic and playful,’ Ellie told us.

Ed and Ellie were keen to incorporate unique styling elements into their wedding that reflected their love of theatre. A stunning floral chandelier was hung in the reception barn, with a backdrop of garlands made from carnations. The overall look was designed to feel like the opening of a theatrical curtain.

The day before the wedding, Ellie and her sister Olivia went to pick blackberries from the farm for their guests to eat at the reception. ‘It was a little thing that I will always remember because it was so lovely to do something with just me and my little sister (who was also my chief bridesmaid) the day before the wedding,’ Ellie said.

Both hailing from Sydney, the choice of a rural destination for their wedding is something Ed and Ellie don’t regret. Many of their guests took the weekend to stay near the venue and relax.

‘It just made the whole experience that bit more special and exciting, and made the wedding a bit more of an adventure for everyone,’ Ellie said. Ed and Ellie’s celebration of their love for each other, theatre and their family and friends shone through their wedding.
