Robyn Lovric, from event business Lettuce & Co, used her creativity, expertise and passion for event planning and styling to create one very special celebration for her daughter Romy’s 3rd birthday. Because Romy loves the story of the Gingerbread Man so much, Robyn decided to bring the classic storybook to life with this Gingerbread Man themed party.

Taking the famous phrase: “run, run as fast as you can”; Robyn labelled the milk bottles with “drink, drink as fast as you can”, and the dessert table with “eat, eat as fast as you can”.  Each of the desserts reflected a different element of the story, like the delicious marble mud cake featuring the gingerbread man flying a floating fox kite, and gingerbread flavoured mini cupcakes.

For entertainment, the kids got their hands dirty at the craft table, decorating their own gingerbread man and getting their faces painted. At the end of the day, each of the kids left with a super cute goodie box (which looked like a mini oven) with a gingerbread man inside. Instead of your typical lolly bag, this goodie box contained gingerbread recipes, a mini gingerbread cookie cutter and a gingerbread man cookie.

We’ve seen lots of little girl’s birthday parties styled with pinks and glitter and all things sweet; and as much as we love girlie get togethers, we were blown away by this party’s originality. Use it as inspiration to surprise your special little girl or boy by creating a celebration based on a story she loves.
